As per the latest researches done by scientists from Virginia Bioinformatics institution (VBI) have developed a new technology that will help by detecting genetic changes that will differentiate patients of cancer from healthy people. The technology is as per the recent studies published in the journals. The detections will one day serve as the best cancer predisposition test. Our blood cells have majority of non coding DNA. This means the ones that are not set down as proteins. Microsatellites are the specific category of these junk DNA. A human genome consist of two million satellite repeats, however, these repeats vary depending on the person. The most of its usage is made in forensic and paternity tests.
The VBI researches in Dec 2010 discovered a four nucleotide repeat (AAAG) in a particular gene called estrogen related receptor gamma (ESRPG). This is a very powerful gene that indicates the susceptibility of breast cancer through an individual’s genetic. The repetitive micro satellite DNA is much more present in cases of breast cancer. Similarly, patients with increased number of these repeats in the supporter areas of the ESPRG gene have the risks of three fold higher cancer susceptibility as compared to healthy people.
However when the latest studies were carried out, scientists instead of emphasizing on a single gene , they created a design for a fresh DNA micro array which allowed them to calculate more than 2 million of microsatellites in the human genome within a single experiment.
In the recent days, cancer has been one of the most widely observed fatal health conditions in people. Inventions of these finest technologies have made it the best attempt to convert its criticalities in to normal. With such an invention pace, soon we can take benefits of many more such technologies that would further lessen the troubles and would serve guarantee of the dreaded disease to be cured.
