Abusive Behavior Leads Doctor in a Soup: His Privileges Plugged Out

When latent anger and old grudges seeps in, you may end being a shadow of yourself. In the ever demanding world of medicine, the doctors are being increasingly frustrated over their lack of free time and hours of operating time that sucks up all of their energy.

It is not surprise when somebody loses their cool and vents out the anger on everybody around. And that did happen some time back when one Dr Christian Guier was discharged from his surgical privileges after his ongoing abusive behavior which disrupted the whole peaceful decorum of the St John’s Medical Center. This orthopedic surgeon was termed as abusive by his peers and all of the OR staff signed a petition where they refused to work with him. Apparently, this abusive history of his has been going around for around 14 years.

According to a medical research, it has been said that about 97 % of the doctors and nurses have some kind of behavior problems. This is an alarming situation and it goes to show the people responsible for treating us are themselves in need for some psychological treatment. When a patient learns about such problems, he may think twice before getting himself operated by a abusive and frustrated doctor.

This matter should be treated with a lot of care because our health and well being depends upon their abilities. They cannot afford to lose their cool for the simple reason that it will affect the patient. Counseling could be a good idea so that the doctors open up to their personal problems.
