For a mother, there is nothing more important than taking care of her child throughout. She feeds her child all the way through her life but breastfeeding has been considered as the most essential form of nourishment that a mother can endow her child with.
The most significant brain development happens in one in the initial first five years after birth. Only proper breastfeeding can aid this development. About 70,000 Danish children were being tracked who were born in the period of 1996-2000 until 2008 by the University Of Aarhus School Of Public Health. Their breast feeding habits were taken into consideration and the result concluded that those children who were breastfed for a longer time were healthier and less vulnerable to health problems and other attacks than those who were not.
Breastfeeding is a form of immunity to the child life-long as it can prevent the child from being a victim to various diseases. The Journal of Pediatrics has supported this fact with the help of a study recently. It clearly mentions the fact that the longer the child is breastfed, the more the child is protected from health hazards. It rescues the child from infection that includes diarrhea, vaccine response, NEC (necrotizing external colitis), Respiratory Syncytical Virus (RSV) etc. It enhances the entire development including the child’s cognitive and social development. It provides protection against various allergies and enhances dental health.
It is being studied that the various nutrient that are present in mother’s milk is unique and hence is a must. Not only is breastfeeding beneficial for the child but also for the mother as it may keep her away from breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
A recent research infers that the probability of the children who were breastfed for at least 9 months had 1 in among 200 chance of being prone to diseases while 1 among 100 kids in USA are prone to 2 or more seizures during their childhood when they were breastfed for only 3 months.
