Cialis (Tadalafil) – Erectile Dysfunction Medicine

Cialis is a brand name for the drug Tadalafil. It is FDA approved potent medication for treating erectile dysfunction. Food and Drug Administration of America has approved tadalafil for sale in the United States as the third erectile dysfunction treatment drug (after Viagra and Levitra). Cialis is an oral prescription medication for the treatment of men erectile and sexual dysfunction. Cialis is also known to be very effective in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Cialis Mechanism: How Cialis Works?
Cialis (Tadalafil) is a PDE5 inhibitor; a PDE5 inhibitor is a drug used to block the degradative action of phosphodiesterase type 5 on cGMP in the smooth muscle cells lining the blood vessels supplying the corpus cavernosum of the penis. The inhibition of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) enhances erectile function by increasing the amount of cGMP. In certain cases, there are also reports as regards vision impairment and sudden hearing loss.

Cialis Preparations
Cialis is available in a pill form; tablets in 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg doses are available. The tablets are yellow, film-coated, and almond-shaped. The approved dose for pulmonary arterial hypertension is 40 mg (two 20-mg tablets) once daily.

Availability of Cialis
Tadalafil drug is marketed by Lilly ICOS, LLC world-wide under the brand names Cialis and Adcirca. Adcirca, one of the brand that also includes tadalafil, is developed for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Cialis is a prescription medication; it can be purchased only on the prescription from a registered medical practitioner. It is easily available across various registered online pharmacies or online chemist; it is a convenient way of buying as compared to the convention method of buying from drug stores. Many online pharmacies also offer attractive discounts and offers.

Cialis Side Effects
Cialis is not free from side effects, it is known for causing a number of side effects. The most common side effects when using tadalafil includes headache, backpain, muscle aches, flushing, indigestion and stuffy nose. Back pain and muscle aches can occur 12 to 24 hours after taking the drug. The other side effects usually go away after a few hours. Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor; the PDE5 inhibitors are known for causing transiently low blood pressure (hypotension). For this reason, organic nitrates should not be taken for at least 48 hours after taking the last dose of tadalafil.
