An anti-baldness drug called Finasteride is the only FDA approved drug to treat genetic hair loss. It is the top selling hair loss drug till to date. Finasteride has shown most promising result i.e. 9 of 10 men found hair loss stopped.

Finasteride (generic of Propecia) was approved by FDA to treat male pattern baldness in men with classification as prescription drug.

Recent, experiences of users of this drug are complaining about decreased libido and problematic ejaculation. Decrease in sex drive is there in the list of side effects of Propecia right from the day one. However, the maker company was not issuing any warning in label. Taking into account the complaints reported lately by many users of Propecia, Merck has started to issue warning on sexual side effect in drug label.

It was believed that sexual side effects of Finasteride come back to normal after stop taking the drug. However, many patients of hair loss have not got back their sexual life on track even after stop taking drug for 3 months.
