Electronic Patch a New Acne Treatment

New treatment for acne is going to include in list of approved acne treatments along with benzoyl peroxide and Accutane. Oplon has developed an electronic patch to be applied on acne affected skin. The patch has so far showed promising result in clinical trial.

This electronic patch works in unique way to treat acne. It uses electricity to kill bacteria responsible for acne breakout.

Initial result of trial shows that affected skin improvement within three days after the use.

Acne breakout mostly occurs in puberty and between the age of 20 to 30. Acne has been embarrassing situation for patients, so much so that recent study report links acne to suicidal thoughts in teenagers.

So far there are only two FDA approved treatments in market, Benzoyl Peroxide creams and Accutane tablets.

Like other treatments, electronic patch too has side effects such as mood disorder, dry skin and nausea. The acne patch takes several days to show improvements. Scientists claims the effects to be most promising than other acne treatments.

The new acne treatment comes in the form of a plaster and is left on the affected area overnight. The manufacturer claims quicker results have been monitored in their subjects compared to those who use regular treatment.

Electronic acne patch is just like plaster like patches in appearance. As seen in trial, electronic patch produce quicker result as compare to other available treatment. Given its convenient use, fast result and promising effects, this new treatment is likely to be breakthrough remedy for acne.
